Clinical Biochemistry & Therapeutic Drug Monitoring

The Department of Laboratory Medicine at AIG Hospitals occupies an expansive area of 80,000 square feet and operates around the clock, aiming to deliver precise, reproducible medical reports with exceptional accuracy and rapid turnaround times. It serves the diagnostic needs of clinicians and patients alike, offering round-the-clock services.

Each department is overseen by a team of expert physicians with specialized training obtained both in India and abroad, complemented by well-trained technical personnel. The laboratories are meticulously designed according to global standards and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, featuring automated laboratory solutions, pneumatic sample transportation systems, high-throughput machinery, and versatile analyzers. These facilities are integrated with pre-analytical workstations and linked to automated Analyzers with track system. AIG Hospitals stands out as one of the pioneering healthcare institutions in India to adopt Total lab automation.

The Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory is comprised of Clinical Biochemistry, Hormones, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and HLA Transplant Immunology. It stands as one of the largest NABL accredited biochemistry facilities, with well-trained technicians and qualified consultants, state-of-the-art equipment and amenities. It is the forefront of patient testing, serving the diagnostic needs of clinicians and patients alike, offering round-the-clock services. The range of services and the number of tests and test panels continue to expand to meet the diverse needs of the patient population.

The Clinical Biochemistry department collects an average of over 5000 blood samples and performs around 80,000 tests daily from both outpatient department (OPD) and inpatients(IPD) ensuring efficient turnaround times. This results in processing approximately 1,00,000 samples each month across more than 400 different parameters. The range of services and the number of tests and test panels continue to expand to meet the diverse needs of the patient population.

As part of our commitment to adopting Good Laboratory Practices, we have implemented internal and external quality assurance programs to ensure the quality of the testing process. Our policy is centered on delivering the 'right report to the right patient within the rapid turnaround time’.

Point of Care Testing Program

Clinical Biochemistry also assumes responsibility for supervising the entire point-of-care testing program across the hospital.
