The concept of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology was born around 25 years ago from a polyclinic. That small step led to the start of a journey to serve people and provide the best quality healthcare to all. Today I take pride in sharing that, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology is India’s foremost gastroenterology hospital and amongst the leaders in the world.
It is one of the 17 Centres in the world to be recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the World Endoscopy Society, the only Indian hospital to hold this distinction. This would not have been possible without the quality staff, dedicated doctors & the complete team of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. Many of our highly skilled and experienced doctors are eminent faculty in renowned international universities and conferences. Beyond the accolades and recognitions endowed upon us by national and international agencies, I feel proud about the fact that Asian Institute of Gastroenterology has become a name that fills the heart with hope and solace, and we are extremely happy to provide the common man with world-class healthcare, at an affordable cost. As we push forward towards our goal to provide world-class services to our patients while enhancing the scope of our services, I am happy to share the launch of operations of our new facility, AIG Hospitals, at Gachibowli, which has been designed after understanding the requirements of the people, in our humble endeavour to serve them better.
AIG Hospitals is an advanced 800-bed super-specialty hospital, with Centres of Excellence (CoE) in Medical & Surgical Gastroenterology, Oncology, Cardiac Sciences, Renal Diseases and Metabolic Sciences. AIG Hospitals shall mark a new era in the Healthcare Industry in India and raise the benchmark for not just hospitals in India but also in the West. It is the first hospital in India to have over 20 Endoscopic suites, which shall enable our skilled doctors to perform Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, ERCP, ESWL, EUS, Capsule Endoscopy, and Manometry. This is the first hospital in India which shall have Endo-alpha rooms – better known as Hybrid OTs – enabling medical & surgical teams to perform procedures simultaneously. We will have advanced Operating Rooms which have been designed to undertake Transplant Surgeries, 4K Laparoscopic Surgeries and Robotic Surgeries. We also have state-of-the-art Cath Labs, dedicated Chemotherapy wards, PET CT, Gamma Camera, 128 slice CT, 1.5T MRI, Linear Accelerators (LINAC), a full range of non-invasive cardiology services, etc. which would enable us to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services comparable to the best in the world.

We are earnestly and continuously striving our best to scale newer heights in the pursuit of service excellence, with a dedicated mind to uphold the noble profession and to flourish, year after year. We are committed to providing the most modern and technological developments in the field of medical sciences, to the public.
Whilst we may have the best infrastructure in the country today, we are aware of the spiralling health-care costs and the resulting burden that it creates on the people of India, most of whom still continue to pay out-of-pocket for healthcare. With this in mind, we have developed our systems which work on economies of scale and are efficient enough to ensure affordability for our patients and their families.

Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy is an Indian gastroenterologist who studied at the Kurnool Medical College. He is the chairman and founder of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) at Hyderabad, the biggest gastroenterology hospital in the world.He received the Padma Shri award in 2002 and Padma Bhushan award in 2016.

An elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences,he was given the world's highest gastroenterology award in Shanghai, China, at a function held in September, 2013.He was conferred with the Rudolf V. Schindler Award, the highest category in the prestigious Crystal Awards named after Schindler, who is considered as “the father of gastroscopy” by American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)
