To reach and maintain a healthy lifestyle a combination of physical activity and good nutrition can help reduce the risk of chronic disease and promote overall health. Getting the right amount of nutrients from food in the right combination is elucidated nutrition. Making smart choices about food that one eats will help achieve prime health. The relation between food and maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism is the science of nutrition. The one key to develop and maintain good health is nutrition. Good health is described as a healthy mind body and spirit.
The mission of the Department of Nutrition at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology is to improve human health through better nutrition and lifestyle. The Department strives to accomplish this goal through research aimed at an increased understanding of how diet influences health at molecular and population levels, the development of nutritional strategies, informing policy, the education of researchers and practitioners, and the dissemination of nutrition information to health professionals and the public. The food guidelines play an important role in all disease conditions, in which we make the patient aware of. Initial Metabolic, Anthrometric and Biochemical parameters are the individual requirements attained by nutritional assessment of the patient.
