Professional Synopsis:

Dr. Tharani has done her under-graduation and post-graduation from the renowned Christian Medical College, Vellore. She has received the prestigious Dr Regati Gopal Reddy Gold Medal for the best outgoing student in DMRD and is the batch topper in MD Radiodiagnosis. She continued to serve her alma matter (CMC, Vellore) as a confirmed faculty member for several years before relocating to Hyderabad and joining AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli. She is a Professor of Radiology and serves AIG as the Associate Director-Abdominal Radiology. Her passion is in Abdominal cross sectional imaging (CT & MRI), which she has been practicing for more than a decade.

She is well known among peers and clinical colleagues for her excellent diagnostic skills in Clinical Radiology. She conducts weekly teaching sessions, interdepartmental clinico-radiological meetings and multidisciplinary tumour board meetings. She is an enthusiastic teacher, and highly experienced in training and guiding post graduate and fellowship students in Radiology. She is the Program Director for the ongoing Abdominal Radiology fellowship course run by Radiology department at AIG hospitals. She is actively involved in research projects with more than 10 ongoing projects at present. She is also a constructive reviewer for some of the well-known Scientific Radiology journals.
