Dr. Sonam is a Consultant Gastroenterologist currently working in AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli. She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Aurangabad then MD Medicine from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha and DM Gastroenterology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai.

She is comprehensively trained in managing Gastrointestinal and Liver disease cases.

She has many publications in national and international journals. She has presented posters and oral papers in various national and international conferences. 

Apart from her academic and clinical expertise, she has a keen interest in healthcare management and incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in gastroenterology. She is Appointed as a Member of the Emerging Leaders and Women in GI Committee of APAGE (Asia Pacific Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy).

• Recipient of WISE (World Endoscopy Organisation International School of EUS ) 2023 Fellowship.
• Recipient of European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Fellowship module I, under prof. Jacques Bergman at AMC Hospital Amsterdam, Netherlands for a month.
• Participated in Asian EUS Group Train the Trainer Program by Kitasato University 4,5 Nov 2022.
