Professional Synopsis:

Dr. Balachandran Menon is the Director, Department of Liver Transplant at the AIG Hospitals. He has performed and assisted over 2000 liver transplant surgeries. He had Vascular Surgery Training from Shree Chitra Tirunal Hospital, Trivandrum and later Surgical Gastroenterology training (MCh) from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. An able academician, Dr Balachandran also worked in KMC Manipal, SVIMS and NRI Medical College, Guntur where he was the Head of Surgical Gastroenterology.

He went on to do Liver Transplant fellowship from Samsung Hospital, Seoul and Sir Gangaram Hospital, Delhi. He has been a Senior consultant in Liver Transplant from 2010 and has worked in Sir Gangaram Hospital, Medanta the Medicity and was later Director and Head of liver Transplant at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad. His main interest is Laparoscopic Hepatectomies and Laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy. He has over 25 peer reviewed Research publications to his credit
