Dr Akhil Sugandhi received his MBBS from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, a well-reputed Institute, and his MD from Kamineni Institute Of Medical Sciences Hyderabad, another distinguished institution affiliated with KNR University.

He also has a DNB in Internal Medicine from the prestigious National Board, Delhi.

He has received training in Rheumatology from NIMS Hyderabad where he worked as an observer.

He worked for the prestigious TATA group for 5 years before joining AIG Hospitals.
