Radial Ebus

Radial ebusis a probe used to diagnose lung nodules or mass which are located neither towards the central airways to be approached by normal bronchoscopy nor they are located peripherally to be approached by ultrasound. It’s a safer procedure than CT guided FNAC of lung tumours since the chance of pneumothorax is very less with radial probe guided FNAC. This is usually done under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia. At AIG hospitals, the department is equipped with Olympus manufactured Radial probe transducer (20 MHz, mechanical-radial type, [UM-S20-20R; Olympus, Tokyo, Japan]) with an outer diameter of 17 mm covered with the guide sheath (SG-200C [inner diameter 20 mm]; Olympus, Tokyo, Japan).
